    Pietro Gonizzi was born in September 1986 in Parma, Italy. He got the diploma at Liceo Scientifico “Giacomo Ulivi” in 2005. In October 2008, he got the Bachelor Diploma (3-year program) in Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Parma, discussing a thesis titled “Video Streaming Services on IP Networks: from IPTV to WebTV”. From April 2009 to October 2009 he was an Erasmus student at the Rheinisch-Westfaelische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH), Germany. From October 2010 to April 2011, he did an internship at Thales Communications and Security, Colombes-Cedex, France. In July 2011, he got the Master Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Parma, discussing a thesis on “Low-Complexity Redundant Distributed Data Storage in Wireless Sensor Networks: Design and Experimental Validation”. From November 2011 to February 2012, he was an intern at Disney Research Zurich (DRZ), Switzerland. Since January 2012, he is a PhD student at the Wireless Ad-hoc Sensor Network Laboratory (WASNLab), supervised by Prof. Gianluigi Ferrari.

    Pietro Gonizzi won the Best Paper Award at the 1st International Conference on Sensor Networks (SENSORNETS), held in Rome, Italy, in February 2012.
